My Work

My PhD focuses on conspiracy beliefs and how they relate to critical thinking skills. We are particularly focusing on teaching explicit critical thinking skills through video games with the aim of reducing people's susceptibility to implausible conspiracy theories. Additionally, we are aiming to design a psychological scales that measure how people critically evaluate conspiracy theories (i.e. what elements they consider, what common errors do they make). We believe this approach provides a more nuanced way of measuring conspiracy beliefs, as opposed to merely measuring whether individuals believe in a given conspiracy theory.
